Find a Way to Say YES

Find a way to say yes to things… saying yes means that you will do something new, meet someone new, and make a difference. Yes lets you stand out in a crowd, be the optimist, see the glass half full, be the one everyone comes to. Yes is what keeps us all young. — Eric Schmidt

Successful people will say yes when others say no. It’s not wise to jump into everything, ignoring risk, reality, and common sense. It’s about recognizing the moments when you would typically hold back rather than going for it.

What are the things we say that are in essence hesitancy, fear, procrastination, and aversion to risk?

Let’s gut check these phrases —

— Sorry, I am too busy for that.

— I would but ….

— I have never done that before.

— Looks exciting but I am okay with what I have.

— It’s too late to do that now.

It’s not the things we do in life that we regret. It’s the things we don’t. Say yes, and go for it!

ACTION STEPS:

Evaluate how you can get to a — yes. What is holding you back? What do you need to do or know?
